New H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Announced

Just released yesterday.  First District Health Unit has received additionaly doses of vaccine for H1N1.  It will hold a vaccination clinic on Wednesday, November 4 at the Minot Municipal Auditorium from 9 am to 6 pm or until the vaccine is gone.
Who can receive the shots?
All children 6 months through 5th grade
Children 5 years through 18 year with specific chronic health conditions
Pregnant women (CDC just also announced that it is 92% effective in giving adequate immunity)
Healthy parents and siblings of infants under 6 months of age.
Specific chronic health conditions are:
1. Cancer
2. Blood disorders (ex sickle cell disease, other anemias)
3. Chronic lung disease
4. Diabetes
5. Heart disease
6. Kidney disease
7. Liver disorders
8. Neurological disorders (such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, brain or spinal cord injuries, mental retardation)
9. Neuromuscular disorders (such as muscular dystrophy, and MS)
10. Weakened immune systems (people with HIV or on medications that weaken the immune system)
The shots will be done on a first come first serve basis.  There will be no charge for the shots.  It cannot be given to sick people.  It will be given in both the injectable form and the nasal spray form.

So if you have the risk factors listed get your vaccine!
