Swedish Artist Threaten by Islamists

The Swedish artist Lars Vilks was threatened with murder for drawing a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad with a body of a dog. Apparently this deeply offended the Islamists. Al Quida as put a $100,000 bounty on Vilks. Seven were arrested in Ireland on suspicion of plotting to murder the Swedish artists. Two were of Algerian backgrounds (and one had an American wife), another two of Libyan backgrounds and one each of Palestinian and Croatian. Three Swedish newspapers published the cartoons. They did it because it was newsworthy and freedom of the press and speech. What I find interesting is the frequency of Islamic papers publishing cartoons just as offending to Christians and Jews, but you never hear of them plotting to kill the offending Islamic artist, or attacking the offending paper or the country of origins businesses and government buildings. This smacks of hypocrisy and shear stupidity that religion can drive people to, no matter what that is. Remember the Danish cartoon Muhammad things just a short while ago? If it is a crime against God, let God do the punishing, not man.
