This Homeopathy Awareness Week

Wow! This is homeopathy awarness week. They actually have a week. This CAM method of diagnosis and treatment is so full of it. Some say what is the harm? Science Based Medicine blog (which there is a link provided below in the other interesting sites) has an excellent posting on this subject. There is a series of YouTube videos produced by a real doctor on the case of Gloria Thomas Sam. She was a 9 month old baby girl who died due to homeopathy. Her father was is a homeopath and after multiple consultations with real doctors and treatments prescribed he rejected all of them and did his homeopathic thing. The result is his baby girl died. Dr. (if you can call him that) Sam and his wife have been sentenced to 10 years in prison for basically negligent homicide of their baby girl. Of note a lot of culture plays into this. The family is from India, where homeopathy is considered legite. I have been told that healing and science depends on belief. This is out right denial of the real world because it interfers with the "believers" idealogy. Science and science based medicine is universal. It works here in the U.S. as well as any where else in the world. CAM and specifically homeopathy does not work any where, but only in the believers mind. Please go to Science Based medicine for a good article or you can go to YouTube and look for cOncOrdance channel, the producer of the video or just go to "Whats the Harm: Gloria Thomas Sam".
