Kluge

A remarkable book called Kluge The Haphazard Evolution of the Human Mind by Gary Marcus give insights into our brains cobbled together psychology. The author is a professor of psychology at New York University and the director of the NYU Child Language Center. This is definitely a must read. He links evolution to our psychology and how we think, or more precisely lack of thinking. We tend to take short cuts and act like water, we take the path of least resistance. I found the book very engaging, a quick read, and informative. What I particularly liked was the list of recommendations for buffering, if not correcting for our evolved minds way of taking short cuts and thus producing mistakes, errors etc. I heartily recommend this book.
