Obama Care Sold Out to CAM

The following is from a letter I sent to our senators and representative, along with President Obama. I became aware of the subject on Science Based Medicine and I recommend you go to the link below to that site and see the article.

Dear Sir;
I would like to ask your opinion and or response to something I heard got into the health care reform act; "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

It seems from several sections the government, meaning us the taxpayers, will have to pay for unsupported scientifically unsound complementary and alternative medicine. I have become aware of this from Science Based Medicine internet site. Specifically Section 3502-Establishing Community Health Teams to Support the Patient-Centered Medical Home, which would endorse government grants t establish 'community health teams' and says "team" may include doctors of chiropractic, and other licensed complementary and alternative medicine practitioners."

Section 4206 Demonstration Project Concerning Individualized Wellness Plan specifically provides an in for herbalists.

Section 5101 National Health Care Workforce Commission defines "health cre workforce as" all healthcare providers with direct patient and support responsibilities and specifically includes licensed CAM practitioners and chiropractors within the definition.

Section 2706 prohibits health insurance discrimination against any "health care provider who is acting within the scope of that provider's license or certification under applicable law. This is also known as the "Harkin Amendment" or titled Non-Discrimination in Health Care.

I supported the Obama health care plan and the democrat's support of it. Now I feel used and dirty. CAM is non-supported by by any scientific evidence, but now they have a way into the sytem and us the U.S. tax payers, are going to have to pay for bogus treatments and doing real harm to patients. How about letting scientific evidence decide scientific issues, like health care? Iguess money and politics is more important than integrity. This makes me weary of any support for anyone or anything in our government again from either the republican or the democratic side. This will come back to haunt you and our country.
