Chinese History and Confuscius

The skeptics in the pub at the Blue Rider was interesting, with very good discussions. We had a nice little turn out with some new faces. Robert presented Confucius by first explaining Chinese history. I must admit I am not a scholar on Chinese history or philosophy and this gave a chance to at least improve that knowledge deficit a little. Confucius live in the state of Lu from 551 to 479 BCE. He work became the basis of Chinese thought and philosophy for centuries until communist revolution in the 20th century. It is not a religion and only later acquired religious overtones. Good now I have that back ground. The good part was over refreshments we had very good discussions that focused on analogies of today's world with what confuciusism says. All had a good time. New ideas for upcoming events were discussed. Maybe in November we may have a talk on Islam from one who just got back from Islamic studies in Syria. Our next meeting will be August 5 at CFM 7 pm and will be "Is Climate Change Normal" by the state climatologist Dr. Adnan Akyuz of North Dakota State University. The next talk in September will be Evolutionary medicines topic involving diet.
