A news article caught my attention this morning over my cup of tea. A Muzzammil Hassan is acused of murdering his wife in the offices of the television netword, he and his wife founded, now get this, in hope of countering Muslim stereotypes. Mr. Hassan is accused of beheading his wife last week, days after she filed for divorce. There is no discussion of culture or religion influence in this murder. However, the couple is from Pakistan and it sure sounds like honor killing. Police responded to domestic incidents days prior to the divorce papers being filed and the murder. An friend of Hassan said; "His personal life kind of betrayed what he tried to portray publicaly,". Really, you think. Why do we have to always say it is their culture and pass it off as that. When it goes against human morals and decency then the culture is not moral or decent. It is Barbaric! And not even honorable. If you weren't getting along with a spouse, just get a divorce and leave. He had enough money to live better than most Americans. Again the so called religion of peace is not proving itself.
