Reform in an Islamic State?

The king of Saudi Arabia has made some changes that run counter to the hard line Muslim clerics. He is installing moderates (if that is even possible) in power of the moral police and areas of Sunni clergy. Most are younger moderates. I wish him well. However, if history is any guide. The hard liners will use that as an excuse to oust him and install an even more repressive Islamic state. It will be the will of allala or so they will think and propagandize to their people and the rest of the world. Allala will not tell them a thing they will just think a thought and assume it is allala telling them that he wants to repress his chosen people for their own good. But, if by chance the king succeeds then it may be the beginning of a more tolerate Islam, I doubt it.
