CAM Claims Another Life in Minot

We admitted a poor man with throat cancer. He had a trach or artificial tube in his throat for him to breath. Multiple metastasis with emancipation secondary to the tumor was very evident on exam. He was truly suffering. When he was diagnosed he did not want to take "traditional treatments" for his tumor and that was before it had spread. He preferred herbs and homeopathy. He died several hours after admission to the hospital. Sound familiar? CAM promises much and delivers nothing. The power of belief can be itself a cancer.
